What is a BG Coordinator?A BG Costumes Co-ordinator develops and executes background looks approved by both the Costume Designer and Production, overseeing logistics, staffing, budgets, sourcing, tailoring and garment builds, fittings, and office and set crews. As dedicated fitting budgets are uncommon, most background actors are costumed on set-often just moments before filming. This highly creative role is essential to establishing the script’s atmosphere, colour palette, and authenticity. Background performers may be transformed for environments ranging from hospitals and raves to art galas, plane crashes, Halloween events, motorcycle rallies, and black-tie affairs.
